DIY Coffee Cup and Cocoa Ornament

Using a glass paint marker (located at most craft stores for less than $5), apply a design on a clean white mug. Once your creation is complete, let the mug air dry for over 8 hours. Then, bake your mug at 375 degrees for 40 minutes in a non-preheated oven. After 40 minutes, allow your mugs to cool before handling. They are now dishwasher safe.

You can also add gift cards, single coffee cups or other fun items in your mug as well. We’ve put together a cocoa ornament for ours.

You’ll need:

  • A clear plastic ornament
  • Hot chocolate mix
  • Marshmallows
  • Candy canes
  • Additional desired sweet treats!

Using your clean, plastic ornament, insert hot chocolate mix to desired level. We opted to put all of our hot chocolate on the bottom. You can use white hot chocolate mix as well.

Once you have filled your ornament, then you can begin layering in other sweet treats. We’ve opted for lots of yummy marshmallows, but sprinkles, crushed candy cane, and even chocolate chips can be added to create a one-of-a-kind treat for your recipient.

Once you are done, decorate with a special name tag. Remember, the small details can make the biggest difference! Combine with your new mug for an extra-special gift.
